Free Women's Bra Patterns

The free women's bra patterns in this article can be used by anyone who likes to make their own bras. I didn't realize how many women make their own bras until I started looking for these bra patterns. Not only did I find a few free bra patterns, but there are patterns sold by pattern companies, like Kwik-Sew and Butterick.

I had thought about doing this article a few months ago, but wasn't sure how to approach it. Since then, bra making has kept coming up as a list of topics to write about due to the economy. I could give a list of reasons why women make their own bras, but I believe that should be used for a whole different article, which by the way I plan to write.

However, the free bra patterns can be a way to make your own without having to spend a small fortune on new ones. Once you have made one or two bras, you should be able to make them without too much trouble. The first thing anyone sews out of their comfort zone always has its flaws of some kind. The flaws may not be too apparent to most people, but as someone who sews, I have seen the flaws in some of my garments. When that happens, I usually take it apart and redo it until I get it right.

You could do a practice run with an old bra and a piece of clothing you are planning to throw away. This way you can make it and make notes of the problems you are having. You can then take the practice bra apart and make the corrections each time until you have directions to make one that suits you. To do this, I would suggest taking notes during the process of making the first bra.

Once you have it completed, take a look at the homemade bra and your notes. Start taking the bra apart, make the adjustments to the fabric and your notes. You will then start the sewing process all again. When you run into another problem, make note of it and make your corrections.
