Mailing Bags

One of the major problems every office faces is to find is an efficient way to mail products or information that doesn't fit in the traditional sizes of envelopes, but doesn't warrant a 'harder shell' of a box. And that's where mailing bags come in - they can be produced to any size and can hold odd shaped, paper of all kinds or other packaged items (including clothes) that would otherwise not fit in certain packing materials, thus cutting costs.

Mailing bags 101

Understanding the type of mailing bag you need varies based on what you're posting. If you only need to provide a 'cover' to what you're posting, a single walled plastic mailing bag is often the best option. There are a myriad of colours (to match your company branding) and options out there, plus they are versatile enough that they can be screen printed for even more customisation if required. The standard envelope colour is often grey and comes in a variety of sizes, but to make your customers feel good about opening your products, consider using primary colours - eye catching packaging often has a positive effect on clients, so giving them a good feeling from the outset is often a good way to keep their repeat business.

Mailing bags are also harder in many cases to tear than paper. They may snag on very rare occasions, but it's difficult to accidentally damage the integrity of these bags, which makes them ideal for shipping items if you've had problems with package damage in the past. They solve the need to 'over wrap' products too, and can provide a measure of additional protection to items that are already boxed. Double bagging or bags with padding can also be used to protect delicate boxes, but in these cases, you should consider bubble wrap and a proper box as a better option.
